Privacy Policy

The short version: your projects, room scans, measurements, prices, and client details never leave your device and your own iCloud. QuoteCast has no account system and no server of its own. What we do receive is a narrow stream of crash reports and pseudonymous usage events, hosted in the EU, never linked to your identity and never used for tracking. You can switch that off in Settings at any time.

What QuoteCast stores, and where

Your projects and related data are stored locally on your device and synced across your Apple devices using Apple iCloud (CloudKit private database). This includes room dimensions, surfaces, openings, estimates, line items, pricebook presets, and branding. This data lives in your personal iCloud account, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. The developer of QuoteCast has no access to it. Nothing is sent to servers operated by QuoteCast.

Camera and LiDAR

The camera and LiDAR sensor are used only for on-device RoomPlan scanning, so QuoteCast can build an editable room model. Scan imagery and depth data are processed on your device and are never stored on or transmitted to any server.

On-device processing

Takeoff math, estimating, and PDF and CSV generation all run entirely on your device. The contents of your projects are not transmitted to us or to any third party for processing.

What is never collected

Your projects, rooms, scans, measurements, line items, prices, client names, site addresses, and branding details are never collected and never transmitted. They stay on your device and in your own private iCloud (CloudKit) database. There is no QuoteCast server and no account system, so there is nothing on our side for anyone to read.

Diagnostics and usage data we do collect

To keep the app stable and to see which features actually get used, QuoteCast sends a limited stream of diagnostic and product data: crash data, performance data, other diagnostic data, masked session replay, product interaction, purchase history, and a device-scoped anonymous identifier. Every one of these categories is not linked to your identity and not used for tracking, matching our App Store privacy label. There is no advertising identifier and no tracking across apps or websites.

Sentry (crash and error diagnostics)

Crash and error diagnostics are processed by Functional Software, Inc. d/b/a Sentry on EU infrastructure (de.sentry.io). Sentry receives crash reports, stack traces, app-hang and performance data, non-fatal error reports, device model, OS version, app version, and Session Replay recordings in which all text and imagery is fully masked before it leaves your device. TelemetryDeck (product analytics)

Product analytics are processed by TelemetryDeck GmbH, hosted in the European Union. TelemetryDeck is cookieless and recognises a device only through a salted, pseudonymous identifier. It receives event names drawn from a fixed, closed vocabulary (for example "scanStarted" or "quoteExported"), coarse bucketed counts, and device and locale metadata. It never receives free text of any kind. See TelemetryDeck's privacy policy.

Subscriptions and RevenueCat

Solo and Pro subscriptions are purchased through Apple and the App Store. Apple handles the transaction and any payment details; we never see your payment information. RevenueCat, Inc. manages subscription status on our behalf and receives an anonymous app user id and the Apple subscription transaction. It receives no name, no email address, and no payment card. Turning diagnostics off

Open Settings › Privacy › "Share Diagnostics & Usage" in the app. The switch is on by default and takes effect immediately. Turning it off does not affect purchases, subscriptions, or restoring a purchase: RevenueCat is purchase infrastructure, not diagnostics, and is not covered by this switch. Events already captured before you turn it off may still be transmitted, because the SDK flushes whatever is left in its buffer when it shuts down.

Legal basis and where data is processed

For users in the EU and the UK we rely on legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) to process first-party, non-tracking, pseudonymous diagnostics and product analytics: the minimum needed to keep QuoteCast stable and to decide what to build next. Sentry and TelemetryDeck data is hosted in the European Union. We do not sell data, and there is no advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making.

Your control

Because your data lives on your device and in your iCloud, you are always in control. You can delete any project, or remove the app and its iCloud data, at any time. You can also export your quotes as PDF and your data as CSV from within the app. Diagnostics are pseudonymous, so we usually cannot connect them to a person, but if you want to request access to or erasure of the data associated with your device, write to hello@getquotecast.app and we will act on it.

Children's privacy

QuoteCast is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. The diagnostics described above are pseudonymous and are not linked to identity.
